Lost Lyrics of Love, Part III

OK - here we go with:

How you feel...when you are getting over it.

I'm running out of bitterness, since last night I got to go out with the person I missed on Valentine's day. I've put the answers to Part II at the end, so if you still want to check your knowledge, skip to the LLoL Part II blog.

1)...I had to put her, six feet under
and I can still hear her complain...

2)...I could wash my car in the rain
Change my new guitar strings
Mow the yard just the same as I did yesterday
I don't need to waste my time crying over you...

3)You look surprised, you didn't think you'd see me
Kicking up my heels, painting up this town...

4)At first I was afraid, I was petrified...
(Yes, it's a gimme, but it has to be here)

5)...How can I put it? You put me on
I even fell for that stupid love song...

6)...I'm tired of waitin' for tomorrow to come
Or that train to come roarin' 'round the bend.
I got a new suit of clothes a pretty red rose
And a woman I can call my friend...

7)You say you were wrong to ever leave me alone
You're sorry, you're lonesome, and scared...

8)...I should have known better
But I trusted you at first.
I should have known better
But I got what I deserved...

9)...What the hell were all reasons
For holding on for such dear life
Here's where I let go...

10)...When I''m stuck with a day that's grey and lonely
I just stick out my chin, and grin, and say...

OK, now the answers from Part II.

1. Tom Petty -- Feel a Whole Lot Better.
2. Scandal -- Goodbye to You.
3. Lorrie Morgan -- Watch Me.
4. Thelma Houston -- Don't Leave Me This Way. I love this song and the remake by the guy from Erasure ain't bad.
5. Dixie Chicks -- You Were Mine.
6. Meatloaf -- Two Out of Three Ain't Bad. After listening to a number of candidates, I've decided that Bat Out of Hell is the best album for cruising in the Mustang. For now.
7. Doug Stone -- Why Didn't I Think of That.
8. Willie Nelson -- Last Thing I Needed First Thing This Morning.
9. George Jones -- She Thinks I Still Care. I actually first got into this off the Swingers soundtrack.
10. Aerosmith -- Cryin'. Pet peeve time. The Superbowl is, quite possibly, the quintessential American event (not necessarily a good thing, but it's true). Why was the half-time show a bunch of Brits who probably think footballs are round? If you need aging rockers, there are plenty of American bands. Even if you have to use them twice.

I just had to turn the heat on in my apartment for the first time in weeks. Wherever you are, I hope you're warm.
